Huh?
You mean like £1 shots of vodka or sourz, or £1.50 all flavours of VS, or only £2.50 for Becks/Carling/Strongbow pints or £2.60 for double of virtually any spirit?
And midweek prices are even cheaper.....
So, yeah, don't know what you mean Sean?

Yeah but lets be real about this. The £2.60 doesnt include coke which means that if you want coke...you have to add 60p on for 2 dashes of coke in a tall glass makes for an expensive drink. £3.20?! Im NOT paying that =p So cheap vodka for me. £2.60 would be GREAT if you didnt have to pay for coke as well Hmmmmm...£2.50 isnt THAT great a price for a pint. The sourz is the only thing I love =] But its the only shot Id have at a night out there as Im not paying £1.60 for shots But I guess ive just been spoiled with £1 shots in the past and dont like paying more for them.

I spoke to a pal last night who went to a bar in town with his missus and they had a large JD & coke and a large vodka & coke at the bar.
At Subside this would cost £5.80-£6.40 depending upon how much coke you wanted in the drink.
At the other bar it cost £11.80, that's pretty much double what it costs in Subside. And that's fairly standard for most town bars who have to pay a similar level of rates, rent, electricity, etc.
Plus Subside still provides DJ entertainment, outdoor heating in winter, and the required door staff and all important bar staff.
We could of course drop the prices if the bar staff worked for less so you take a pay cut Lizzie and we'll drop the prices, how's that? No, didn't think so.
Even local pubs charge around £2.80 a pint for standard lager and more for premium beers so I don't think, I KNOW we're offering damn good prices.
And most of the £1 shots you had Lizzie were cheap shite brands not the top brand names we sell, JD, Gordons, SoCo, Jamesons, Martell, Grouse, etc.

yeah dave, you should get rid of the martell and get either hennessy or courvoisier.....
i went to oceana bout a year ago. a double vodka and rebull was £11....for 1 fucking drink, i nearly died, sambuca was £3 a shot....
AND, i think staff should get discount, lol

Well Sean, since you 'first went', and I'm guessing that was around the opening time in September of 2007, there's been three very well documented (in the national press) increases in cost prices of alcohol. Two came from the breweries, one in Feb/March and one in September/October, and the other was our national annual price increase courtesy of the poxy elected government disguised under the banner of 'the budget' in April.
We had no choice but to pass these increases on by putting up the bar prices as we're operating on a minimum profit margin as it is. That was a decision we made when we opened to keep the prices as keen as possible and still give you the service and entertainment we think the rock & alternative fraternity deserve.
One simple way to reduce prices is at the next general election.......
